Many interior doors come with classic clear glass as standard, but by choosing an alternative glass type, you can easily balance light, privacy and aesthetics. Whether the goal is to create an open and airy home or to screen off for more privacy, there are several beautiful glass types to choose from.

Customize light in and privacy

The choice of door glass affects both the atmosphere and functionality of a room. Patterned or frosted glass lets in natural daylight while limiting visibility. This is especially practical for spaces such as bathrooms, bedrooms or home offices, where privacy is often desired without the room feeling dark.

Explore different types of glass for interior doors

Here are the available glass options that can be selected for door models with a glass opening:

Gothic glass (tempered): A classic patterned glass with a lively structure that provides effective privacy and a beautiful play of light. Please note that Gothic glass is not available for glass openings of models G64 and G68.

Sandblasted glass (tempered): An elegant, frosted glass with a completely smooth, matte surface. It gives a modern impression and a soft, pleasant light input with a high degree of privacy.

Faceted glass (tempered): An exclusive option where the edges of the glass are ground to reflect the light in a sophisticated way. This option is available for doors with barred glass openings and is offered in the following designs:

3–6 glass openings
6 glass openings for a door with a frame
10–12 glass openings
10–12 glass openings for a door with a frame

Technical specifications and safety

Safety is a central part of the glass design. All alternative glass types in the range are tempered, which means that they are significantly stronger than standard glass. If, in the unlikely event that a tempered glass were to break, it would granulate into small, unsharpened pieces instead of large, sharp shards. This significantly reduces the risk of personal injury and makes the doors safe for environments where people are constantly on the move.

Design a uniform interior

By combining the right door model with a suitable glass, it is possible to create a common thread throughout the home. It is great to mix clear glass in the social living rooms with sandblasted or Gothic glass in the rooms that require more privacy, while keeping the exterior design and framework of the doors consistent.
