This strike guard is specially designed to protect the wooden shaft just below the axe head - the zone that is most exposed to wear and mechanical damage in the event of incorrect cuts during wood splitting.

The guard is extremely easy to attach; you wrap it smoothly around the axe shaft and tie it with the included, robust leather cords.
