Description

Butyl tape Fiber consists of a high-quality plastoelastic butyl rubber mass coated on one side of a non-woven fabric. The tape is very dimensionally stable in its length and does not stretch. On the other hand, the band can handle a movement absorption of up to 10%.

Preparation

The surfaces must be dry and free from dust, oil, grease and other substances that can impair adhesion. Rough and porous surfaces or where the temperature is below + 5ºC can in some cases be primed.

Application

Cut the tape to the required length / shape and with a calculated overlap of at least 25 mm. Press the tape carefully and with even pressure over the entire surface or, best of all, roll it with the help of a pressure roller (fig 1). NOTE The band must not be stretched or punctured. Check that no air pockets have formed. When installing ME404 as a secondary seal under windows, the tape must not go completely around / past multifunctional tapes such as Trio or bottom strip/joint.

Restrictions

Can't withstand UV light, the tape must always be covered outdoors with plaster or sheet metal fittings. V.g. check compatibility in contact with other sealants.
