Auson Wood Tar Pigment Red 2.7 Liter
Description
Wood Tar Auson Pigment Red 2.7 Liter. Red tar is a classic pigmented wood tar based on Genuine Wood Tar, Balsam Turpentine and Linseed Oil which gives the surface a traditional tawny red colour that resembles red mud paint. The tawny red colour gradually appears as the tar's natural brown colour fades. Red tar provides a water-repellent surface and protection against the sun's UV radiation. Contains 100% active ingredients.
Wood tar is nature's own wood protection and consists of, among other things, various types of resins and terpenes. Resin (resin) is the tree's natural way of protecting itself against microorganisms and healing damage. Terpenes are a solvent and accelerate drying. Wood tar is made in a kiln from resin-rich pine trees. Red tar received the best results in Folksam's 2012 paint test, where mold and algae growth, cracking and peeling were examined.
Area of application
Red tar can be used on wood that has previously been treated with sludge paint (e.g. falur red paint) and iron vitriol, as well as on untreated or previously tarred wood. Wood such as wood panels, facade timber, fences, wooden roofs, pallet collars and other wooden structures outdoors.
Application
Best results are achieved if grinding with red tar is carried out in warm weather, at least 10 c. The product is then easier to work with and penetrates the surface better. For planed wood such as timber facades and for harder wood types, red tar should be mixed with an additional 10-20% turpentine or alcohol. The pigment sinks to the bottom during storage, it is important to stir the can thoroughly before painting. Stir occasionally when painting with red tar. Remember that wood tar is a natural product that can vary slightly in appearance from different productions (batches). If you have several cans from different productions (see white label on the lid), you should mix them together to avoid color differences.
Painting
Brush off dust, dirt and loose paint. Wash off algae and mold growth very carefully with an effective mold detergent. This is very important if the surface has previously been painted with mud paint. The surface must be dry when painting. Paint directly without primer, even with end wood. Use a brush. Can also be sprayed. Spatula with 10-20% turpentine or alcohol depending on the spray equipment used. Can be painted over after about 1-2 days. Paint 1-2 times depending on new or previously painted surface or type of substrate.
