Care Instructions Primed Products
Primed products must be finished, at least twice with an oil paint. Once before assembly and once after assembly. It is important that the end wood is also treated with impregnating primer oil and top paint. Cut surfaces and screw holes are considered end wood. Ask your paint store which oil and paint are best suited to your specific environment.
- Check the moisture content of the products before treatment, maximum moisture content 17%.
- Treat the end wood. Place the post/pillar/upper and lower beam in a container with impregnating primer oil so that the ends are covered and let it stand for a few minutes. The primer should be repainted after 30 minutes at the earliest and after two days at the latest.
- Lightly sand the primed surface.
- Paint the products at least once before assembly. It is important that the end wood is also sealed with paint.
- Assemble.
- Paint at least once more.
The products should be inspected regularly and repainted if necessary. Spot repairs can be made by scraping off any flaking and applying touch-up paint. Wood is a living material that changes its properties depending on the weather and seasons. It is not uncommon for wood to crack if it dries quickly in a sunny environment. This is not to be considered a product defect.
